U! Can Inspire
It's my second time to join U! Happy Events this year.
This time U! facilitated a popcorn day for kids who have cancer.
I came there planning to bless and encourage a kid. I left blessed and encouraged instead. I met myzobel who cheerfully fight a good fight without any traces of depression or defeat in her. I have yet to visit her. Hopefully soon.
Meanwhile, here are some of the pics of the event.
There were so many volunteers that the ratio was 4:1.

Dinner with Nate
Nate: Ninang, nagpray na ko. (I prayed already)
Je: ok si ninang naman (Ok, it's my turn)
Je: Dear Lord, thank You for the food and for the blessings that we just received this afternoon
Nate: Wag ka mabilis, dapat mabagal lang. (Don't be fast, you should say your prayers slowly)
Je: Wag ka maingay nate ha. Kami muna ni Lord maguusap. (Quiet, Nate, let me talk to God first)
Nate continued eating his meal
Je: (praying in her mind)
Nate: Wala kang sound!!! (rolled his eyes) (Your sound is turned off!)

One of them conversations I enjoy
I waited patiently outside the cubicle while she did her thing.
Ereka: Are you sure you're not peeking?
Je: No, of course not.
Ereka: When I was a small kid I used to play bubbles.
Je: Aren't you still a small kid?
Ereka: No! I'm a big girl! I'm five years old already!
I smiled at her cuteness. We talked about her dolls, her lola's dolls, her disney princess, my disney princess, her feeble attempt to jump in a kiddie pool, etc.
I did peek cause it's more than 5 minutes already. She must be enjoying the chat and taking her time cause I can see her cute little feet dangling while she sat on the toilet. We went on chatting as she took her time to wash her hands and dry her hands and fix her ponytail. Then it was time to go back to the classroom. :(
I really relish conversations with these little humans. :)
Bird!
Kid 1: Teacher, he said a bad word.
Je: Dont say that bad word again ha.
Kid 2: (eyerolling) it's just "bird"
Je: Ok, it's not a bad word, he means the flying animal.
Kid 3: Duh! It also means a body part.
-oh my, teacher needed grace.
Kids day out
Some of our cousins flew from Mindanao. So we took this rare opportunity of going around Manila. We went to Manila Zoo and Star City.
